Preparing New Leaders To Serve Our Nation
Following her military service, Cameron enhanced her skill-sets and served in major aerospace corporations in the dual responsibilities of both a subect-matter-expert and in leadership roles.
Her team-building skills were employed in areas of her expertise where her teams developed sophisticated Research and Development technical briefings of high-security national and international Special Access Programs. These were "Black Programs" -- designated as those not acknowledged to the pubic for both U.S. Defense and NASA projects.
Under her leadership to provide research and develop "Black Program" briefings, Cameron's teams provided daily updated presentations for high-level review. Cameron ensured the most accurate research was presented in a clear, concise, accurate account; and she directed presentation development that engaged three aerospace departments to meet the ever-changing daily and even hourly realities of policical foreign affairs and included the latest national security information from the highest levels of CIA reports. Thus, these briefings served a two-fold purpose: First, as a source of continuos review, analysis, and options for decison-making by top-level U.S. government leaders; and secondly, to present how specific defense projects can best contribute to current and emerging political or war challenges based upon their unique qualities and strengths.
The audiences for these briefings were an elite cadre of U.S. Senatorial and Congressional Committee Chairpersons and the Secretary of Defense. At times, this also included briefings tailored for the needs of the President and Vice President of the United States.
Cameron's additional assignments in aerospace on "Black Programs" focused on human factors in relationship to defense and NASA projects: Psychological issues; health; safety; and security of military personnel; and an emphasis on the survival and long-term well-being of crews and military communities.
In terms of grooming and preparing new leaders in their career development Cameron created opportunities for team members to demonstate and contribute the value of their unique backgrounds, skill-sets, and innovative ways of thinking. In this framework, she also provided them with clear guidance, personal and professional freedom, resources, appropriate boundaries, and supportive oversight to ensure each of them had an opportunity to hone their talents and develop new skill-sets.
In other leadership roles, Cameron's responsibilities focused on development of a five-year Business Plan that encompassed world-wide projects in Research & Development as well as existing defense products.
These contributions earned Cameron and her teams numerous commendations and awards for both her leadership and individual professional efforts serving U.S. government Defense and NASA projects.
